Janice McDonnell, the principal of Review Your Style, has worked in administration in the corporate world for a large part of her working life in almost every industry.

A late developing trainee in the Colour Analysis and Personal Style world, it became apparent that retail and the fashion industry as a whole were not considering the needs of the ever-increasing number of women born after WWII. Clothing ranges catering to the physical challenges faced by these women were seen as limited.

At a fashion parade conducted by a leading Melbourne department store, Janice was seated with five other well dressed and professional women of similar age watching the models encircling the tables wearing the latest winter range. The beauty of the young women and the clothes were admired but the conversation around that table was that bright yellow tapered slacks were not something these women would buy, and, generally the styles were inappropriate for their changed figures. They bemoaned the fact that retailers and manufacturers were ignoring the needs of a growing market.

Janice took it upon herself to do something about it; she trained with Ann Reinten of the Australian Image Company, successfully Certificates of Attainment in Flow Colour Analysis and Style & Image Development.

A passionate believer in the value of wearing one’s correct and most flattering colours, Janice believes there are huge benefits to a person’s confidence, as well as a more attractive and youthful appearance.

Having sewed since childhood, Janice is a corporate member of the Australian Sewing Guild, supporting the membership in their colour choices and making herself available to the various groups for presentations on colour and style.

Janice performs most of her Colour Analysis consultations in her studio in St Andrews beach, south-east of Melbourne.
